In connection with Valette / L.S Lowry current exhibition at the Lowry Museum curated by Cécilia Lyon.

Valette & Lowry Tour
Come along Salford's Quays ever so vibrant to visit the current exhibition curated by Cécilia Lyon at The Lowry museum. We will touch on the life and the background of the two painters Adolphe Valette and L.S. Lowry and see the evolution of their two respective approach to painting.
How did these two painters meet, one French and somewhat out on the limb in Manchester and the other local although introvert locked into his own way of drawing and painting. How did they share their teacher-pupil's relationship here in Manchester.
A unique space within the current exhibition where we can appreciate to see a rare selection from both painters together.

Valette's Walk
An independent tour revisiting Manchester, back a century ago when thriving and industrial, and when the French painter Adolphe Valette depicted distinctive and atmospheric views of the streets. We can see them and let ourselves imagine... hearing the matt sound on the cobbles, could you nearly able to smell it!? perhaps best not. How does the Manchester then compares with today? Not only the story of a painter but an opportunity to look at the character of a city shaped from its people...
